Instead of relying on standard third-party software, ConneX has developed its own platform, OakSystem, which provides full control over data, functionality and further development. This means greater flexibility, faster adaptation and a solution that can grow with customer needs.
Data is stored securely on servers in Denmark, and communication takes place via proprietary gateways based on LoRaWAN and 5G. This ensures high operational reliability, simple installation, and a solution that does not require access to the customer's network.

OakSystem – the common platform behind ConneX' solutions
OakSystem is ConneX's proprietary platform and forms the technical foundation for all our solutions – from construction sites and tank solutions to Smart Building and properties.
The platform has been developed from the ground up with a focus on flexibility, scalability and high data quality. It is a deliberate strategic choice that gives ConneX full control over functionality, data and further development.
While many solutions in the market are built on top of standard third-party software platforms, ConneX has chosen to own the core itself. This gives us much greater freedom to develop new features, adapt solutions to different industries, and respond quickly to customer needs.
OakSystem is designed to collect data from many different types of IoT devices and technical installations and transform it into structured, usable information. This means that the same platform can be used across solutions – with the same user experience, the same data model and the same high quality.

Data storage – full control and security for the customer
Data is a central part of ConneX's solutions, and therefore control, security and transparency are essential. At ConneX, we have chosen a clear approach: customer data is customer data.
All data collected through ConneX's solutions is stored securely on servers located in Denmark. This means that data is subject to Danish and European legislation and is handled in accordance with applicable data security requirements and GDPR.
By owning and operating the technical platform itself, ConneX has full control over how data is collected, processed and stored. This provides a high level of security and enables consistent data quality across solutions.
For customers this means:

- secure and stable operation without dependence on global cloud platforms

Gateway and communication – long range, high security and simple infrastructure
ConneX's proprietary gateway is the technical link between IoT devices and the OakSystem platform. The gateway is designed for stable and secure reception of LoRaWAN signals from standard IoT sensors.
LoRaWAN is a low-frequency, very long-range technology that enables coverage of large areas with few gateways per location. It ensures stable communication – even through buildings, basements and other challenging environments – and reduces the need for complex infrastructure.
Once data is received, it is forwarded via the mobile network (5G) to ConneX's backend and stored securely on servers in Denmark. The solution is completely independent of the customer's internal network, which increases security and makes IT approval simple and fast.
The gateway is available in both indoor and outdoor versions, so it can be used flexibly in everything from buildings and technical rooms to construction sites and outdoor areas.
The proprietary gateway gives ConneX full control over communication, security and data quality and ensures stable and consistent data transfer across all solutions.

ConneX builds its solutions on standard LoRaWAN-based IoT components. It is a deliberate strategic choice that provides flexibility today – and security tomorrow.
LoRaWAN is a global standard with a large and active ecosystem. There are currently more than 1.000 different sensors available, and new and improved components are constantly coming to the market. This means that the solution can be continuously developed in line with new needs, technologies and requirements without having to replace the platform.
By using standard components, ConneX avoids proprietary tie-ins and ensures that customers are not locked into one vendor or one type of hardware. OakSystem is designed to continuously integrate new sensor types and functions as they become relevant.
